Runaway Love (DMCA TAKEDOWN EDITION)

About two weeks ago, we at the Mixhaüs heard rumors of a Justin Bieber + Kanye West + Raekwon song that was being produced. Lo and behold, today the "Runaway Love" Remix was released... and it lives up to its expectations. Pretty awesome track, Raekwon and Kanye have some solid verses and Justin maintains a Michael Jackson-esque voice.

Update: Unfortunately, the DMCA has decided to yet again take down another of my posts... So, I had to get rid of the mp3 and the download link on the post. Whatever, I downloaded it (again) from Kanye's official blog, so if you want the mp3 -- and you should want it, it's pretty sick -- , scroll down a bit, and then click "Click HERE for the mp3..". Nicki Minaj Killed The Radio Star

Words cannot describe Nicki Minaj's current popularity streak. She's appeared in songs with everybody from Lil' Wayne to Jay Sean, sampled Annie Lennox, and today she debuted a brand new track with will.i.am (of Black Eyed Peas fame) called "Check It Out". Right now, the most popular music trend seems to be sampling older pop songs to make hits (i.e. "Forever Young" by Alphaville → "Young Forever" by Jay-z & Mr. Hudson). What's interesting about this song is that it samples timeless 80s pop song "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles while still maintaining a modern, 2010 sound. Or should I say 3010? THIS IS GONNA BE HUGE

Last week, Cee-Lo Green (part of the crazy Gnarls Barkley duo along with Danger Mouse) unveiled his new song, the brashly titled "F**k You" (minus the stars). This week, 50 Cent freestyled over the upbeat, soon-to-be-a-classic song, which resulted in the following remix. Now this sounds like The Massacre-era 50 Cent we all know and love...

You Were A Child

At this point, everyone's heard "Kids" by MGMT. There are countless remixes of it, including the now-popular "Opposite of Adults" by Chiddy Bang. Today I've got a really cool cover of "Kids" by the folksy rock band The Ooks of Hazzard. Don't be fooled though - this isn't some boring folk music.

By now you've all heard "Power" by Kanye West, and I'd say it's fair to proclaim that Yeezy is back in the game. Proof of that? The new official "Power" [Remix] featuring Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz. It's got some awesome piano beats, soulful gospel samples, and a whole lot of 21st century schizoid men. Near the end, Swizz comes in with a sample of "The Power" by Snap! ("I've got the power"). This song is beyond incredible... to be honest, it's pretty powerful.

UPDATE: Hey everyone, I downloaded this song from Kanye's official blog ( http://www.kanyeuniversecity.com/blog/2010/08/official-power-remix/ ) yesterday, but today I got a DMCA copyright infringement takedown notice. This is pretty annoying, considering that I downloaded the song from KANYE'S OFFICIAL BLOG, but whatever.

New Cudi and Kanye!

Sorry for not posting anything in the past week, I've been away but now I'm back at the 'haüs with a "clutch" new song by Kanye West and Kid Cudi: "Wylin 'Cause I'm Young". It's on the "G.O.O.D. ASS Mixtape" that's coming out this week, and this song is awesome. Now all we've gotta do is wait till October for Man on the Moon II and November for Dark Twisted Fantasy. Anyways, give it a listen, give it a download, and let me know what you think.

Portrait of Power

Everyone excited for Jersey Shore tonight? I know I am... Plus, Kanye West's "Power" video (@KanyeWest: THE 'PORTRAIT OF POWER' PREMIERS THIS THURSDAY ON MTV RIGHT AFTER JERSEY SHORE...IT'S NOT A VIDEO... IT'S A PAINTING!!!) is premiering directly after the episode, so it should be a good night on MTV.
PS Kanye's Twitter might be the funniest thing on the site... if Aziz Ansari wasn't spending his time #PredictingKanyeTweets, and someone hadn't made @BudgetKanyeWest ("just got off the subway!!! PICTURES SOON").

The Kid

It's Tuesday, and that means one thing here at the 'Haüs: chill music. Actually, that's what everyday means... but you get the point. Today I've got a really great song called "Opening Day" by Sam Adams, formerly known to the world as Wiz. A previously underground young rapper from the Boston area, Sam was picked up by First Round Records after his remix to Asher's Roth's hit "I Love College" (titled: "I Hate College") became incredibly popular on the web. In March, Sam released his freshman record, quasi-eponymously titled Boston's Boy, which immediately became huge and debuted at number one on iTunes. This song, "Opening Day", is one of Wiz's Sam's earlier songs, and in my opinion: it's his best.

Can I Get Witcha?

What's up Haüsies, today I have a really awesome mashup done by Mother Earth Remixes for you guys. It mashes the fantastic Notorious B.I.G. song "Can I Get Witcha" with the lesser-known song "These Eyes" by The Guess Who. All in all, this is a truly awesome mashup, Biggie's slick rhymes giving the 1968 tune a better flow. Go on, give it a listen... you won't be disappointed.
